Information you provide directly
ashihab.com does not offer user accounts, registration, or a website contact form. There is no place on this site where you submit personal information to me through the website itself.
The site does publish a direct email link. If you choose to email me, anything you include in that message is sent voluntarily through your own email service to my inbox. The website does not capture, intercept, or store that message.
Hosting and technical information
Like any website, ashihab.com is delivered by a hosting and infrastructure provider (currently Vercel). To deliver, secure, and operate the site, that provider may process standard technical information such as IP address, browser and device information, request details, and basic server or security logs.
This is ordinary infrastructure processing rather than something I collect for my own purposes. I do not use it to build profiles of individual visitors. What the provider retains, and for how long, is governed by that provider's own practices.
Analytics and tracking
The site does not currently use behavioral analytics or advertising tracking tools. It does not use PostHog, Google Analytics, advertising pixels, session recording, or behavioral advertising trackers.
If analytics are introduced in the future, this policy will be updated to describe them and the "Last updated" date above will change.
Appearance preferences stored in your browser
The site offers a Light, Dark, and System appearance setting. When you choose one, that choice is saved in your browser's local storage so the site can remember it on your next visit.
That value stays in your browser. It is not transmitted to a server, is not used for advertising or measurement, and holds nothing beyond your appearance preference. Clearing your browser's site data removes it, after which the site follows your operating system setting again.
Cookies
ashihab.com does not intentionally set cookies of its own, and does not use marketing or advertising cookies. The appearance preference described above uses local storage rather than a cookie.
If you follow a link from this site to another website, that website may set its own cookies under its own policies. Those are outside my control.
Links to other websites
This site links to third-party services and publications, including LinkedIn, GitHub, Instagram, Nexren, FilesMagic, the Apple App Store, and UAE Business Times Magazine.
Those websites are operated independently. Once you leave ashihab.com, their own terms, privacy practices, and data handling apply to what you do there. It is worth reviewing the privacy policy of any external site you visit.
Sale of personal information
ashihab.com does not sell personal information collected through the website. There is no advertising network, data broker relationship, or commercial data-sharing arrangement associated with this site.
How long information is kept
The website itself does not maintain visitor account records or contact-form submissions, because it has neither.
Email you send voluntarily may be retained for as long as is reasonably useful for professional correspondence, recordkeeping, or follow-up.
Technical hosting and security records are retained according to the hosting provider's practices rather than by me directly, so I cannot state exact retention periods for them.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS in production and sends standard security-related HTTP headers. Reasonable technical measures are used to operate it securely.
No website or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and I do not claim otherwise. Please avoid sending confidential or sensitive information by email.
Children's privacy
This is a general professional website about my work. It is not directed specifically to children, and it does not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the website changes, as new technologies or services are introduced, or as legal and operational requirements change. Material revisions will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
